Delta Says No New International Flights from Seattle until New Terminal Is Completed

by Adam

Delta says that they won’t be adding any new international flights to Seattle until the new International Arrivals Facility is completed (estimated to be some time in 2019). As per the Puget Sound Business Journal:

Delta CEO Ed Bastian said his airline is “facility-constrained” because of congestion as people move through customs. “It would be difficult to bring more international traffic flow at this time,” Bastian said. “There’s a limit to how long customers can wait to clear. When the facility comes online, that will support growth,” he said, adding that the airline sees more “opportunities” in Asia, as well as Mexico and Latin America.

The new facility will have the capacity to process 1,900 international passengers an hour through customs and luggage claim and will be built at the south end of the terminal.
