“How useful do you find blogs to inform you about the SkyMiles program?”…love that one! Delta is asking for feedback on SkyMiles and providing 250 miles to share your opinions. The questions almost seem too good to be true for a BA reader, inquiring about the availability of awards and the ability to redeem for a “reasonable amount of miles”, comparisons to AAdvantage and other programs, elite benefits, whether blogs shape your opinion of the SkyMiles program, and even a text box to offer your own suggestions on improving the program. I think my text went on for two pages!
The email below is targeted but check your inboxes to see if you received one. The offer is signed by Karen Zachary, Managing Director SkyMiles, someone that many of us at the Freddies got to meet first hand. She was open and honest regarding the negative changes and seemed to counter each with a business case (in terms of short term profitability anyway). Hopefully some thoughtful comments and low scores will help convince her team that loyalty is important for long term profitability as well.
I’m truly someone in the New York area who would prefer to fly Delta (in-flight product, consistency, customer service), but have specifically changed my loyalty to AA (going out of the way sometimes) due to the superiority of the current AAdvantage program.

Ah – I have stopped trying to earn Delta points since last year. I doubt I’m targeted but I know what my answers will be!
250 miles to tell them they’re terrible vs 8,000 miles to tell Spirit the same. That tells you something. At least I got a few magazine subscriptions out of Spirit.
As long as they’re good at making money any other concerns are just a show.
I can’t see the link to the survey !!!
Also, I didn’t get the 8000 Spirit miles even after taking the survey !!
I somehow managed to get 8,000 mi from spirit twice. Almost tempted to get their credit card because of it (might want to buy the flights for someone else though!)
Can you please tell me how did you manage to do so ?

[…] Earn 250 Miles – Tell Delta How Terrible the SkyMiles Program Is! by Point Me To The Plane. Survey is targeted, but that’s not what I found interesting. There were two questions which were relating to how useful people find blogs that discuss frequent flyer issues. […]
I actively choose not to fly delta and it’s alliance members (or united and brothers). Only American for me unless fare difference is huge.
Better to earn American miles than shitty delta bs.
[…] Delta, as we know, has been sending out surveys about SkyMiles as I posted about and as well as my fellow blogger Adam (yes THAT Adam). But thanks to my Lufthansa 1st class trip that ended up coding as a paid 1st class […]
[…] was not as fun as the solicitation back in June when Delta wanted to understand how badly they’ve damaged the SkyMiles program. The topic for this survey was London Heathrow and Delta / SkyTeam’s operations […]
