For anyone who was a fan of the 1980s television series The A-Team, Mr. T was likely one of your favorite characters. In case you missed it, a few months ago, Mr. T “joined” the Marriott Hotels team, emphasizing the Fairfield Inn & Suites 100% guarantee.
In Marriott’s tongue in cheek press release at that time, they write:
We pity the fool who doesn’t understand that in the hospitality business it’s everyone’s job to help guests stay amazing. And in an effort to do so, guests need a guarantee that any issue that arises will be resolved on the spot. Fairfield Inn & Suites® counts on an A-Team of associates across more than 750 hotels worldwide, who know how to get the job done right–every time. Now they have a new colleague, TV legend and entrepreneur, Mr. T. Known for his no-nonsense attitude, he is transformed from Mr. T to “Mr. Guaran-T” in a new video series which debuts today and features the Fairfield 100% Guarantee.
“I’m the enforcer! You tell me what you need done and I make it happen. That’s what guests expect and deserve from a great hotel brand and a great associate.” said Mr. T himself. “But even I had to learn a thing or two to put my muscle to work for hotel guests. I guarantee you’ll have a laugh when you watch the videos and you’ll see for yourself why Fairfield Inn & Suites is the place to stay if you want 100% satisfaction from the moment you check-in until the time you check-out.”
In continued efforts at increasing the public’s awareness of Fairfield Inn & Suites’ guarantee, Yahoo Travel conducted a mock interview with Mr. T today, asking about how he travels! The points that Mr. T shared today are:
- He always arrives early. Not just to clear security (in case he’s traveling with his famous bling), but also so he as time to say “I pity the fool!” to all the fans her runs into.
- He’s always prepared. On “The A Team” TV show, Mr. T’s character was afraid to fly. Not Mr. T — he ain’t scared of nothin — except maybe germs and AC.
- He always secures his valuables. Mr. T used to carry 40 pounds of 24K gold chains wherever he went, so he’d always ask for the supervisor when going through security.
- He makes trips meaningful. South Africa was one of his favorite trips.
