FAO Schwartz is coming back to NYC with their first retail store since Toys ‘R’ Us closed the GM Building Fifth Avenue flagship store in 2015 and then sold the brand to ThreeSixty Group in 2016. The new location at Rockefeller Center is set to open next fall.
The NY Post reports that:
Its next location will be 19,000 square feet — just about one-third the size of the 61,000 square feet it occupied in the GM building — but its location, at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, will be just as distinguished. The new FAO Schwarz store will occupy the space now held by the NBC Experience Store, stretching from West 49th to West 50th streets midway between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
The NBC Experience store will move into the NBC store just down the hall.
