Happy International Happiness Day! (Okay, we had no idea it was a thing either.)
But one airline is celebrating with a mini-deal. Norwegian is offering 10% off of flights this fall. Here’s a quick way to get some easy money back, especially if you were planning on flying Norwegian already.
The Deal
- Where: Anywhere Norwegian Airlines flies
- When: September 19 to November 30, 2019
- How Much: 10% off with code FLYHAPPY19
- Why: Fly the best low-cost carrier for an even lower cost
- How To Book: Directly on Norwegian’s website, there’s a handy calendar of dates to find the lowest fares
The “FLYHAPPY19” code expires on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 11:59 PST.
Fares are under $150 one-way between New York and cities like Amsterdam, Athens, and London. At those prices, I would consider flying them instead of with a full-service airline.
Since Norwegian is a low-cost carrier, the lowest fare class doesn’t include things like checked bags, meals, and seat assignments so keep that in mind when seeing these low, low prices.
However, a nice perk if you’re flying Norwegian within Europe is that they’re only one of a handful of airlines to offer free inflight Wi-Fi.
How Should I Pay For These Flights
Consider using a card that earns valuable transferable points. The top points-earner would be using The Platinum Card by American Express, which gives you 5x AMEX Membership Rewards points (5 points per dollar) when you purchase directly with the airline.
Another solid option would be the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, which earns a respectable 3x Chase Ultimate Rewards points (3 points per dollar).
