I fully maximize crowd sourced review websites for my travels. Everything from TripAdvisor, to Yelp, they are in my arsenal when it comes to planning out my next trip. However, when it comes to being closer to home, I have used Angie’s List to get data on local businesses I may use.
Angie’s List
Just like my use of other crowd sourced review websites, I am extremely cautious in which reviews I trust. I know that many companies will fake reviews by paying “customers” to write a glowing review for them. Because of my abundance of caution, I have not too frequently been burned with false information. Similarly, Angie’s List has faced some controversy over their strong-armed tactics in order to increase revenue at the expense of compromising the honesty of their system. And as with TripAdvisor and Yelp, I take their information with a big grain of salt.
The great news is that it seems like Allstate Insurance is offering a free year of membership to Angie’s List! You must visit the promotion website and sign up first. Then:
