Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad has published a set of haunting photos that show the extent of the devastation inside Brussels Airport one day after the attacks last week. Some of the photos are extremely graphic including blood stains from the terrorists. You can see the 13 upsetting photos on their website here.

It’s now being reported that Brussels airport will take months to resume full operations. The CEO of the airport said “Zaventem terminal will have to be rebuilt from the air conditioning to the check-in desks.” Full details on those efforts here.

I have travel booked connecting through Brussels in just 15 days (on SAS and Brussels Air, booked via Aeroplan). Should I not be assuming my flights will operate? Should I be reaching out to confirm? If so, would Aeroplan assist, or do I need to contact SAS and Brussels separately?

@simon – The airport (and Brussels Air) haven’t announced which flights will operate that far out. However, in any case, Aeroplan will take care of you. You can call them and they will likely re-route you.
