Hilton Honors and the Hilton Effect Foundation launched a Points donation match last week to support recovery efforts in Texas following the winter storms.
Interestingly enough, Hilton opened its first-ever hotel in Texas more than 100 years ago. In 1919 Conrad Hilton entered the hotel business by purchasing his first hotel. On his way to buy a bank, Hilton instead purchased a local hotel, The Mobley in Cisco, Texas. In 1925 Conrad Hilton built the first hotel to carry the Hilton name: Hilton Dallas in Texas.
Today, Hilton has a corporate office and reservation center, as well as more than 500 hotels across Texas. Their team has seen first-hand the disruption and devastation experienced in Texas communities. So, in addition to matching cash donations to Direct Relief, the Hilton Effect Foundation will match donations made by Hilton Honors Members via PointWorthy. Donations will support Team Rubicon, an organization providing on-the-ground aid to those impacted. Hilton Honors Members can visit here to donate through the redemption of Points and Hilton will match the donation, up to 10 million Points, through March 12.
