American Express has upped the introductory bonuses on its fleet of four Hilton Honors credits cards. It’s now possible to earn up to 475,000 Hilton Honors points.
For those who have never held a Hilton card and who don’t have an Honors membership, the bonuses kicked in Sept. 11. Current members of the program can apply now:
- Hilton Honors American Express Card: Earn 80,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points after you use your Card to make $1,000 in eligible purchases within the first 3 months of Card Membership. (See Rates & Fees)
- Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card: Earn 130,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points after you use your Card to make $2,000 in eligible purchases within the first 3 months of Card Membership. (See Rates & Fees)
- Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card: Earn 150,000 Points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months
- Hilton Honors American Express Business Card: Earn 130,000 Points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months (See Rates & Fees)
These are some of the best offers Hilton has had since these cards became part of the American Express Hilton portfolio of cards.
What Are 150,000 Hilton Honors Points Worth?
These intro offers supply enough points currency to score a night at some of Hilton’s most desirable properties worldwide. Hilton’s point reward rates are variable, and award nights at the most desirable Hilton properties can cost up to 95,000 Hilton Honors points per night.
The top bonus offer on these card, 150,000 Hilton Honors points would get you an award night at one of their top properties, such as the Conrad Maldives, on a peak travel date, or perhaps two nights during an off-peak period.
The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund requires 80,000 Hilton Honors points for a one night award stay.
The London Hilton Park Lane also requires 80,000 Hilton Honors points for a one night award stay.
On the other hand, depending on your destination hotel choices and even what time of year you travel, there are Hilton properties that only require 10,000 Hilton Honors points for an award night. That would stretch these 150,000 points into 15 nights.
Hilton Honors points can be combined with American Express Membership Rewards Points and Chase Ultimate Rewards points, as well.
The Upshot
Turns out I don’t have three of these cards. If you’re like me and are looking to stay more often at Hilton properties, this is a great time to see if these cards work for you. And if you’re already a Hilton fan, then these elevated bonuses should make you happy!

I assume that if you’ve had these Amex hilton cards previously you are not entitled to the bonus again? Or do these elevated bonuses erase that?
Hi Scott, Your assumption is correct. AmEx rules are once per lifetime per card regardless of sign-up bonus.
