How tough is your commute every day? The GPS manufacturer TomTom recently indicated that the worst commute in the United States is for residents of Los Angeles, California, which is not a surprise for anyone who lives there. However, no matter how bad your daily trip into work is, I bet that it does not compare to what we saw last weekend on the roads in China!
The Worst Traffic Jam Ever?
In Beijing, China, thousands of commuters were trapped on the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway on October 7, 2015. The massive traffic jam was caused by a new checkpoint that caused 50 lanes to merge into 20 lanes! The jam happened during the end of China’s week-long National Day getaway, with tourists and locals trying to get back home.
Fantastic drone footage shot overhead of the traffic jam really gives you a sense of just how massive the issues were.
After seeing that, I bet your commute into work this morning doesn’t seem so bad after all!

Winner winner chicken dinner! That traffic jam sounds awful…
Just a reminder, that is *not* fog in the video, that’s what people are breathing.
