I absolutely love to explore new places and experience local cultures and that’s the goal on most of my trips. However, I’m also a beach bum, and sometimes it’s nice to simply enjoy a nice drink on the beach! Just in time for upcoming winter temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere, there’s a new list out with the “World’s 50 Best Beaches”. Canadian online travel agency FlightNetwork, asked 600 travel journalists, editors, bloggers and travel specialists to weigh in on their favorite beach destinations around the world.
“You might love beaches, but these guys do it for a living,” said Luke Sheehan, VP of Marketing at Flight Network. What makes this list so unique is that our participants could compare and contrast the world’s best beaches from firsthand experience and their careers within the industry. We don’t think there’s a more trustworthy or accurate list out there.”
The ranking criteria included the following criteria: beauty, remoteness, sand and water quality, annual days of sunshine and average annual temperature.
I thought I would have seen more of the top 50, I’ve currently only been to 16 of these, though I do have the top 5 covered after this summer’s trip to Shipwreck Beach (Navagio Beach) in Zakynthos!
