As you likely suspected, the map shows that Uber is a dominant force around the world, with the exception of Asia. In 108 countries of the 171 that SimilarWeb tracked data on, Uber was the number one app. In the United States, Uber is installed on 21% of all Android devices, compared with just under 3 percent for Lyft. Recently, Uber merged with Didi Chuxing in China, and has struggled with competing with other companies in the Asian market.

After Uber, other companies that you may not have heard of have extensive reach across the world. For example, Dubai-based Careem is the most popular app in 6 countries, including Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. Singapore-based Grab also is the reach leader in 6 countries, which include Vietnam and Thailand.
