Reminder – SPG Redemptions 30-50% Off with Starwood Q4 Award Promo

by Adam

One cool offer that I didn’t have a chance to blog about earlier in the week is SPG’s Q4 redemption promotion, which gives members back 30-50% of the Starpoints redeemed for award stays at participating resorts from October 21 – December 20, 2012. There are actually several really nice properties included in the promotion, including the W South Beach which becomes almost reasonable at 15k per night, though still pricey (I miss the days of the Free Weekend/Stay 3 Getaway Free promos when I’d redeem some of my free nights for a Dec. Fri-Sunday night stay at this category 7 property).  Anyway, all reservations must be booked by November 30th to qualify for the promotion. See the full listing below as well as the T&Cs.

Members must register for the promotion by November 30, 2012, at 11:59 pm EST at spg.com/R&R. Registered members will receive 30%, 40% or 50% of their Starpoints redeemed bonused back into their accounts for all eligible Free Night Award nights from October 21 through December 20, 2012 (the “promotion period”) at select participating resorts. Listed below are resorts participating in this promotion and their eligible Starpoints savings:

Only Free Night Award redemptions for standard rooms are eligible for this offer. Free nights may be booked online or through the SPG Customer Contact Center. Award Nights booked prior to the promotional period are eligible as long as the Award stay occurs during the promotional period and the member registers for the promotion. Rooms booked using Cash & Points, 50% off Awards, and Nights & Flights are not eligible. Room and Suite upgrade Awards and In-Hotel Instant Awards are also not eligible for reimbursement of Starpoints. Based on the participating property at which the stay occurs, a member will receive 30%, 40% or 50% of Starpoints redeemed bonused back into his or her account after the eligible Award stay has been completed during the promotion period, and within 4–6 weeks after the eligible stay posts to the member’s account. Offer is not combinable with other redemption promotions.

Additionally, according to the FlyerTalk forum on the promo,

  • Existing Award reservations will count toward the promotion. There is no need to cancel and rebook your Award stay if you have one at these select resorts. Just ensure you register.
  • The 5th night free benefit is included in the redemption savings
  • There is no minimum or maximum length of stay requirement
  • Award stays under this promotion still count toward elite stay and night qualification.
