No really, this happened! You need to remember that if you are not a 10 in the US, you’re not a 10 over there either! That was the spring break warning message from the State Department twitter account yesterday:
Social media did not appreciate the tweet, with many calling it sexist and asking if the State Department was implying that “fugly people were being targeted for roofies”. The Department stood by its first tweet at first before issuing an apology a few hours later.

Geez some people need to get a sense of humor! Drink and club scams are one of the most common out there in many areas. It’s a valid point – if you’re not normally getting approached by really hot people hitting on you, and suddenly your “luck” changes in some club on vacation – stop and think. Even if you do normally attract a lot of attention, be vigilant.
Apologizing is a rookie mistake. They should have kept it and told the complainers to report to their safe space.
Not being a 10 doesn’t mean you are ugly. Maybe you are only a 9.
