Have you ever wondered what the lives of those who are professional travelers are like? A recent AdWeek article discussed a survey to be presented at the TBEX conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida today. The survey of travel professionals (bloggers/writers, photographers etc. who spend an average of 88 days a year traveling) sheds some light on this well-traveled group.
A whopping 17% of travel professionals spent more than half the year traveling, and spent an average of $2,415 per trip. However, 79% of them use rewards or program points for hotels and flights (not surprisingly!).
The top U.S. cities to visit were:
- New Orleans
- New York City
- Portland (Oregon)
- Austin, Texas.
The top international destinations were:
- Iceland
- China
- Japan
- New Zealand
Once at their destination, 83% ranked fine dining their number one activity, followed by local cultural events (75%) and experiencing nature (67%).
