United Airlines Confirms Change Fee Elimination Applies to Caribbean & Mexico

by Zoe

Last month, United led the way and became the first US legacy carrier to eliminate change fees.  At the time, their announcement noted that the policy update was only valid for tickets for travel within the United States, including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Delta matched those destinations, but American included all of the Caribbean and Mexico.

Today, United announced on a Business Customer Forum call that they will include all of the Caribbean and Mexico in the change fee elimination update.

Remember, MileagePlus award tickets to these destinations are included as well. In addition, MileagePlus award tickets can canceled and redeposited at least 30 days before departure.
