United’s CEO on Wednesday told investors that he is planning a “top-to-bottom, full-scale view on everything that we do, it’s something that we have to do and acknowledge, and that involves management structure.”
The Dallas Morning News reports that Munoz told employees in a note that the review will include hubs and spoke airports. He also noted that the airline will work aggressively to modernize operations and information technology.
United stock rose 2.1% on the news. Full details here.

Hmmm, could IAD be on the chopping block?
It’s a rather redundant hub with EWR being only 250 miles away. UA has already been cutting some routes there, and a dehubbing has been rumored for several years now.
