Welcome to Caesars Rewards – Why You Should Status Match for These Benefits

by Bill Shuman

Over the last few months I’ve written several articles that shed light on the many benefits of holding Total Rewards Diamond status and why you should submit a status match.

Striking as a Diamond: Wyndham and Caesars Total Rewards Status Match

Even a few of my non-gambler friends were thrilled about the prospect of being able to match their hotel status to Total Rewards Diamond through a matching offer provided by Wyndham Rewards. Mostly due to the fact that they could pick up a free dinner and have 4 nights free at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas.

As of today, Total Rewards no longer exists. Instead, Caesar Entertainment Corporation has replaced it with one that represents their company name, Caesars Rewards.

Achieve Diamond status in the new Caesars Rewards program by matching your Wyndham status.

New Program, Same Benefits

As I wrote about one of the great things that Caesar’s did with this program was retain all of their benefits. A quick review of the best benefits includes:

Achieving Diamond in Caesar’s Rewards

For those individuals who took advantage of the status match prior to January 1, 2019 their Diamond status expired with the new program roll out on January 31, 2019. For those that applied for a status match after January 1, their status will be good through January 31, 2020. Therefore, those individuals who applied last year and are losing their status will need to rematch their Wyndham status over again to retain their Diamond benefits.

The first step is getting a Wyndham status match, see our previous post on how to do that.

Once that is complete click on this link, which will take you to the status matching page.  From there you simply need to complete a few quick steps to match your account. Remember to click the “I am a Wyndham Rewards Member Match My Status” button that is found on the right side of the page. You will then be prompted to log in to your Caesars Rewards account, which the the same as your old Total Rewards account. From there you will be asked to provide your Wyndham Rewards. Input that, hit enter and you will be all set to be a Caesars Rewards Diamond member. Personally, I went through the steps around 8am on February 1st and had my new Caesars Rewards Diamond status in my account by the afternoon.

Mlife Status Match

Also just a reminder for those of you in the Atlantic City area or willing to travel. The Borgata is still offering their promotion to match Caesar’s Rewards Diamond status to Mlife gold. In addition to Mlife Gold, they will give you a free comp night (good on the weekend even), $100 in slot credit, and access to their VIP lounge or buffet. This promotion, combined with Hyatt Explorist status and club access awards, is the reason that I am flying to Atlantic City for a poker weekend in February for 2 nights.

Final Thoughts

Even though the new Caesar’s program has a new name it is still offering the same great benefits. Therefore, if you are planning on visiting any Caesar’s property in 2019, or want to take a trip to the Bahamas,  then now is the time to enroll for Diamond status.

Yeah I’m in the same boat. Never got any kind of confirmation email or anything either and my status still says Gold.

It takes up to 7 days for the change to reflect on your account.

Seems like the matching loop hole is being closed with the change. the tier credit resets on 1/1 instead of 1/31.

Thankfully nothing has changed regarding that merry go round yet. Tier Credits have always reset on January 1st, but Diamond status is still extended till January 31st. Similar to hotel chains, like Marriott, that give status for 14 months even though night counts only count for each year.

@Bill

If I wanted to take advantage of the Borgata offer would I be able to apply the weekend night to the next night after I arrive? If so, where would you suggest I stay for the first night?

Alex,

First, I would create an Mlife account for the Borgata if you don’t already have one so you can see comp night availability ahead of time. Then I would be to call the Borgata Rewards Desk and tell them you are TR Diamond that would like to stay at their property for two nights. I’m going to be writing a trip report when I return in a few weeks myself about everything so this is a sneak peak, but by calling and asking nicely I was able to get two weekend nights comped from them. Even a friend of mine was able to do the same. The Borgata still charges resort fees on comp nights, unlike Caesars, but 2 nights for $44 is a steal as it should’ve cost me ~$500. When they throw in $100 slot play and 2 free buffets on top of it. Totally worth it! Post the results when your done so I have some more data points for the follow up post.

If that doesn’t work, then you could try for additional free nights at the Hard Rock or Oceans

Got it! I will try that out. One question for you regarding Caesars Diamond. I status matched from Wyndham and still have not received the Celebration Dinner. Is that no longer a benefit for Diamond members who status match?

When you got upgraded to Diamond status, the Celebration Dinner Voucher is not ready for use immediately. A staff told me that it takes about 7 days to be loaded to your account.

Hey Jason,

I’m going to wait until Jan. to status match to Wyndham again and then on February 1st I’ll redo my Caesars. It should give you enough time before landing in Vegas. Have fun!
