Hotels.com seems to email a different coupon almost every day, this week I’ve received three different ones.
UPDATE 5/30/13 – See this link for the latest current hotels.com coupon codes as well as codes for Travelocity and Orbitz.
First there was the April Showers coupon for 30% off select hotels with coupon code APRSHOWERS:
Then there was a 10% off any booking made between March 18 – April 21 for travel March 18th through June 23rd. If you’re subscribed to the hotels.com newsletter you should have received a unique code (check your spam box).
Then there was a 5% off any booking made between March 18 – April 21 for travel March 18th through June 23rd. If you’re subscribed to the hotels.com newsletter you should have received a unique code (check your spam box).
If you’re not subscribed to emails from hotels.com, you can enter your details here to receive future coupons.
There’s just one catch with the 5% and 10% coupons…almost every single major chain is excluded. From Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Radisson, and Starwood properties to Comfort Inn and Econo Lodge. Essentially, unless you are planning to stay at a non-chain hotel, the coupon is pretty much worthless. However, every now and then I do stay at some non points eligible properties, here are a few of my most recent favorite non-chain stays that I booked on Hotels.com and earned Welcome Rewards:
Hotel Marina Riviera, Amalfi, Italy – Full Trip Report
Hotel Cubo – Ljubljana, Slovenia – Full Trip Report
Zira Hotel – Belgrade, Serbia – Full Trip Report

I got the 5 and 10 percent off coupons but must have missed the 30% off one. Thanks for the tip!
Remember that the coupons preclude earning Welcome Rewards credit. For the 10% or especially the 30% coupons that’s a reasonable trade. For the 5% coupon worth seriously considering the trade-off.
Also don’t forget that the coupons can be stacked with cash-back booking portals.
