Norwegian Air is one of the better known low-cost carriers that fly within Europe and to/from the United States. They operate a fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner for long-haul flights, as well as B737 for short-haul hops. For the holiday season, they are giving away free flights, and they are doing it in a pretty interesting way. They call it the “Free Shipping Sale,” where you (the passenger) gets shipped for free.
There are items and products that are located throughout Europe, with one made available every 3 hours. You can preview the items, and once it goes live, you can add your name to the waiting list. Norwegian will select one name from the list for each item, and you will receive a free voucher for two round-trip tickets to fly to Europe and “claim” the item. Winners will be announced on December 22, and they will be able to depart from New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), Oakland (OAK), or Fort Lauderdale (FLL).
While they do list prices for each item, you don’t actually have to pay for them. This is because Norwegian will be throwing it in for free too, at least symbolically. You will receive a $100 gift card from a Sponsor, presumably the company that makes or sells the item. Since only the winner will receive the item, there is really no risk in entering, and you won’t even have to put in a credit card number or anything like that.
You can enter once for every item (i.e. every 3 hours), and Norwegian will be giving away tickets until December 20, 2017 at 11:59 ET. The sweepstakes is open to residents of the US age 18 and above. As usual, there may be tax responsibilities if you win, and Norwegian is pegging the value of the prize at $2,100.
