‘Modern and International’ Uniforms for Iberia’s 6,500 Cabin Crew

Spanish carrier Iberia unveiled new cabin crew uniforms at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Madrid. Barcelona-based designer Teresa Helbig will design the ‘modern and international’ uniforms for the carrier’s 6,500 cabin crew.

The new design will begin rolling out in January 2019, according to cabin crew career website Paddle Your Own Kanoo. Helbig describes her look as ‘light, neat, and modern’ – but not entirely based on current fashion trends.

The designer wants cabin crew to “feel proud to represent Iberia in all parts of the world.” Helbig also describes the connection she sees between fashion and aviation:

We have created our proposal from emotion because flying and design are very similar: both go to materialise dreams

The new look will transition away from the current grey palette to dark blue with yellow and red accents – symbolizing the Spanish flag.

  1. Too bad Iberia can’t figure out how to fix the Iberia Avios mess they created. It’s been three weeks with no word from Iberia. Never going to buy a ticket on Iberia again.

  2. I had a new account, booked 10 flights(not all similar routes), sent in scanned passport as Iberia requested and pdf’s of tickets. Five times! Still absolutely no response from Iberia. Have any new accounts received their Avios?

  3. Wow, too bad the crew in the illustrations are all apparently 7 feet tall and 80 lbs. Wonder what actual, living humans will look like in the new uniforms?
