I’ve always liked Delta’s JFK T4 Sky Club (especially the Sky Deck), but I was surprised on my recent visit to find complimentary hot food options during dinner time.
This is part five of an eight part trip report from my recent trip to Sydney:
- Virgin Australia Business LAX to Sydney
- Sheraton on the Park Sydney
- SkyTeam Lounge Sydney
- American Express Lounge Sydney
- Delta ONE (Business) Sydney to LAX (including my first Delta flight with PJs!)
- Delta’s Updated LAX Sky Club
- Delta ONE (Business) LAX-JFK-LAX
- Wow…Hot complimentary food at Delta’s JFK T4 Sky Club
Back in August 2014, Delta introduced an expanded complimentary Sky Club menu which was a huge improvement over their previous offerings (United basically copied all of the options a year later). New lunch / dinner options included hummus, tapenade, olives, warm soups (chicken noodle, chipotle sweet potato, split pea, etc.), and fresh salads.
Well, I was surprised on my way to Sydney to find an additional option – hot “sauteed chicken with wild mushrooms in a natural sauce”. It was perfect as I had to skip lunch and was starving. I likely would have ended up ordering from Delta’s JFK Sky Club purchase menu. Other options I had not seen before included green bean salad with toasted sunflower seeds, sweet potatoes, and wild rice.
The normal lunch / dinner options were still available…
On the way out, a lounge attendant was even handing out drinks and snacks…impressive indeed for a US carrier!
I did an extensive two part review of the JFK T4 Sky Club when Delta first unveiled the expanded T4. Check out those reviews as well as the celebrations here.
