I tried to take advantage of the CVS Free $50 promo while home at my parent’s for the holidays. However, the New York CVS locations were not able to sell the PayPal cards, instead MyVanillas were supposedly allowed as per a Facebook post by CVS. I tried the MyVanilla purchase and the ExtraCare bucks did not print. Several managers tried to manually print them with no luck. They ended up voiding out the transaction and I gave them back the MyVanilla card. Well, this week I heard from CVS and they’ve applied the promo to my account regardless!
Dear Mr Point Me to the Plane,
Thank you for contacting CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare regarding our Paypal Prepay master card promotion.
In doing some research on your account I have confirmed your purchase of the My Vanilla card. I have issued you your $50 ExtraBuck reward. A coupon for will print at the register or Coupon Center in 48 hours, meaning December 5, 2013.
I hope you find this helpful. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us either by e-mail or by calling (800) 746-7287. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to serving you again.
Sincerely,
CVS Customer Relations

Awesome news!
It would be much more helpful if posted it earlier that My Vanilla was also qualified…
Shannon, if you read his post carefully you will see that he didn’t receive the news from CVS until after the deadline. I agree with Angelina, awesome news and thanks for the post! Also wanted to wish you a great trip to the Maldives and look forward to reading that trip report!
My manager was able to print out my rewards on the spot with a vanilla purchase…….CVS is a pretty classy operation I think and that’s why I am a loyal customer of theirs………..now that they have beans I practically live there………
so..you are keeping the $50 extra bucks even tho you didn’t end up buying the vanilla card? CVS is trying to do the right thing..and believes you still have the vanilla card..perhaps you should do the right thing as well..
@Susan U R not in marketing huh? CVS could care less whether he bought the Vanilla card and the $50 was given to him and to me because they made the promotion hard to redeem and they wanted to make good which they did……and he gets it and I get it but not you? And that’s why we’ll go back again and again to CVS…………..
