There are so many ways to plan a vacation. You can choose a destination because you’ve been before and had a great time. You can choose a bucket list destination you’ve always wanted to visit. How about choosing a destination for an amazing cuisine, historical significance, or because viewing a special event, such as an eclipse, would be a fun experience? Did you know, though, that travel based on your zodiac sign to chart your optimal destination is a new trend? I didn’t.
Yes, it’s a trend. People are consulting astrologers to determine that best destination for trips. It seems that in recent years interest in the zodiac has rebounded across generations. A 2018 Pew Research study found that 29% of Americans expressed a belief in astrology. Google Trends reports that searches for “astrology” and “birth chart” reached a five year high in 2020.
Because of these trends, travel planners, hotels, and restaurants have started catering to guests who are astrology-obsessed. Zodiac-inspired travel perks at resorts include private sessions with Buddhist monks and creating charts to check couple’s starry alignment.
Pro Tip: Do you Pruvo all your hotels stays? If not, do what I do and let Pruvo monitor your reservations for price drops. It’s free and it’s the easiest way to save money on all your hotel rooms.
While this might not appeal to you, there are plenty of travelers who believe in astrology and are mixing those beliefs with their travels. Vacation days are scarce and maybe travel funds are scarce as well. That means deciding where to go is all the more important. While astrologers are not travel agents, we surely look for travel inspiration from all kinds of sources, so why not consult the planets?
What Is Travel Planning Based On Your Zodiac Sign?
Astrologers provide both specific destinations as well as the timing of trips. You can also focus on certain aspects of your life, say career or relationships, and request the astrologer look for destinations that would strengthen and support those areas. People report that even though this sounds like a kooky way to plan their travels, the information astrologers provide is helpful and accurate.
Astrologers consider multiple factors when making recommendations that go beyond the zodiac sign. They look at where planets are in the sky at a specific time, where you were born, and your WHY for traveling.
Astrology is easy to dismiss. But in some parts of the world astrology plays an integral role in society. Many people see astrology as a strategic way to find meaningful dates to take action, whether that’s travel, getting married, or perhaps starting a new job. Astrological tips can be also be good for breaking out of routines and habits, giving you a nudge to move out of your comfort zone. Sure, using astrology for travel planning can also mean giving up some control as to where and when you travel. That can be a good thing!
Final Thoughts
I’m still thinking about whether using astrology to plan some travels would be a fun experiment. Does travel based on your zodiac sign appeal to you? Have you ever traveled based on recommendations from an astrologer?

This article really had nothing to do with the title. I really wanted to see what it said about my horoscope.
Astrology couldn’t help Nebuchadnezzar I doubt they will be very effective for vacation predictions.
It still all sounds like fun and games but what if your astrologer tells you that you shouldn’t travel at all? People romance false religions like this so they can twist it into some awesome thing but it’s all just fake. Get out a big map and some darts.
I thought astrology was stupid until I have kids. I started reading articles about how kids have different personalities depending o n what month they were born, with the logic being they develop differently depending on how early they experience their first winter. I had one kid born in September and another born in May, and their personalities are totally different.
