by Miles Jackson

While COVID-19 has kept many folks indoors as the winter season approaches many skiers are itching to hit the slopes. In fact, outdoor activities are preferred right now due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Alaska Airlines hears you snow lovers and is giving free ski tickets to passengers.

With its “Fly Alaska, Ski Free” promotion, Alaska Airlines passengers simply need to present their boarding pass to any of eight ski resorts. In exchange they will receive a free day of skiing, or discounted ski deals. These are for the 2020-21 ski season only. Eight resorts in the US and Canada have partnered with Alaska Airlines to offer these deals. There are specific terms to the free ski ticket program. For example, some resorts offer free skiing on the day of arrival, others on the day of departure.

The best way to purchase Alaska Airlines tickets is with the Alaska Airlines Visa® Credit Card. It is one of my favorite airline credit cards. It’s a card I’ve had in my wallet and one I generally think is great.

I believe the Alaska Airlines Credit Card is such a valuable card to keep because of the annual companion ticket that it offers. The value of which more than justifies the annual fee, in my opinion.

The Alaska Airlines companion certificate is the single most valuable airline credit card companion ticket out there, in my opinion. Using the certificate you will pay $99 plus applicable taxes and fees (which start as low as $22.) Your companion can fly with you for as low as $121 to many destinations.

The great benefit of this certificate is that it’s valid on all Alaska Airlines fares; any economy fare. If you are an elite, you and your companion can get upgraded while flying on the certificate. It can be redeemed for one-way or round-trip flights. Plus it even earns Mileage Plan miles and is eligible for upgrades, etc. You can the companion certificate to anywhere Alaska flies; that includes Mexico, Costa Rica and the favorite of many—Hawaii!
