If you’re a corporate traveler and your company happens to book you into one of the semi-flexible Club World rates, you may be eligible for a first class upgrade when booking your ticket by January 29th for travel through March 22, 2013. Roundtrip flights booked in C, D, or R class are eligible and you must be a UK or Ireland resident to qualify (though one reader reports success after temporarily changing his address to his company’s London address). If you book the even more expensive fully-flexible J, you are eligible for the upgrade when booking all the way through March 22, 2013 for travel until April 14, 2013. Both offers are subject to availability. The upgrade offer is not eligible for bookings on BA’s website, all reservations must be made via a travel agent or by calling BA directly. Click here for full details.

My old employer had this agreement set up with BA. Flights booked in biz (fully refundable) from JFK to LHR would be automatically upgraded to first. Those were the days. . .
Tuthiness – I’m not sure that was a special agreement … We used to get the same deal: Book full fare business class SFO => LHR and we got complimentary upgrades to first on one segment. I was lucky enough to take advantage several times, and my understanding from our travel agent was that it was something BA offered, but perhaps only via travel agents.
