Oops: Airline Tweets About Where To Sit To Survive A Plane Crash

Many companies have separate social media accounts for each geographic region that they do business in. A community manager with firsthand knowledge of the demographic probably oversees that specific social media account.

KLM flies direct from Amsterdam to the following cities in India: Delhi, Mumbai, and soon, Bengalaru (starting October 28, 2019).

Well, whoever manages the India regional Twitter account for KLM is probably in hiding now after their bizarre (and absolutely ridiculous) tweet from earlier today. Ever wanted advice from an airline about how to survive a plane crash? Well, read on.

The tweet has since been deleted and replaced with an apology.

Not only is this an odd stat, but I simply just can’t believe an airline tweeted that. #TuesdayTrivia gone wrong indeed. Half of me wants to laugh and half of me is internally crying at how cringe-y this is.

Don’t forget, this is the same KLM (direct from corporate) that is encouraging you to fly less for environmental reasons. Well, they sure are trying to accomplish that mission, it seems like…

Ha, for a second, I thought the tweet was an assertion (meant to influence passengers) that middle (non-window and non-aisle) seats are the safest seats to occupy during a flight.
