Flights into NYC (JFK, EWR, LGA) and Philadelphia (PHL) have been temporarily halted due to staffing issues as a result of COVID-19. A trainee at a control center on Long Island tested positive for the virus. According to CNBC, the employee had not been at work since March 17th, but the agency was working to sanitize and clean the impacted areas.
“The FAA is working with local health officials and employee representatives to determine how many personnel might have interacted with the trainee in recent days,” the FAA said regarding the New York case.”
