Qatar Airways said on Monday that it now owns a little more than a fifth of British Airways / Iberia / Aer Lingus parent IAG. Qatar upped its stake to 20.01% as of last Thursday from 15.67%, thanks to an attractive market valuation post Brexit. According to Business Insider, the Qatari state-backed carrier reiterated that the transaction was “purely financial” and is focused on commercial and strategic ties between the airlines.
