This is part twelve of a fifteen part trip report from my travels to the Maldives and Dubai. This picture report covers the Emirates Business Class Lounge in the A380 Terminal – Concourse A in Dubai (DXB). Wait what? I thought all your flights were in First? Well, they were but I wanted to check out the Business Lounge for all of you passing through who may be flying Business.

Interesting note, I’ve been warning in all of these lounge posts associated with our Emirates First trips that there was a bit of explanation required due to the award tickets from Alaska not automatically posting “Lounge Access”. In all cases the confusion was resolved quickly…except for this business class lounge. They did not want to let me in and even after getting a supervisor involved I was denied entry. I explained that I was already admitted into the First Class lounge upstairs, but they didn’t believe me. We literally had to take the elevator upstairs together so that the First Class lounge staff could explain to them why they let me in. Time wasted – 15-20 minutes. Hopefully, Alaska / Emirates work this out, right now the assumption is that you are traveling on a reduced industry fare or complimentary ticket.
Now, the First Class lounge in the terminal was amazing (Emirates First Class Lounge – A380 Terminal – Concourse A – Dubai), but I must say that the business class lounge looked quite similar and had many of the same amenities. There’s no cigar room, private dining, private duty free, or complimentary massages (you still have access, you’ll just have to pay for any services), but pretty much everything else is the same.
The lounge is located one floor below the First Class lounge and also runs the length of the entire terminal. Boarding for each gate is direct from the lounge.
Like the First Class lounge, the Business Lounge had a buffet area (on both sides) as well as snacks near the gates. The buffet area did not have a formal dining option or menu, but the food items were pretty much identical, sushi included.
Snack area…
Huge kitchen staffed with multiple chefs…
The shower area was an exact replica of the First lounge and the spa looked quite similar sans the complimentary services.
More seating –
PS3 room, quiet area, and children’s playroom (also identical):
Boarding directly from the lounge –
