Watch: Virgin Atlantic Transforms Old Air Berlin A330s, New Business Layouts w/ “Love Suite”

by Adam

Earlier this month, Virgin Atlantic welcomed four former Air Berlin A330-200s to its fleet. Virgin purchased the aircraft month’s earlier after Air Berlin filed for bankruptcy with the intention to deploy the retrofitted birds on routes from Manchester to New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Barbados.

Utilizing the current Air Berlin layout in business, Virgin rebranded the first two seats as the Love Suite “ideal for dual dining, watching movies together or even catching up on work.”  They’ve also  added the Solo Freedom Suite (seats next to the aisle) and the Solo Corner Suite. More details from Travel + Leisure:

“The Upper Class cabin introduces three new styles of seating … as well as extra touches such as a barista-style coffee menu and free Wi-Fi messaging,” Phil Maher, the airline’s executive vice president of operations, said in a statement. The Freedom and Corner Suites are best suited for solo travelers, and the latter is extra private and offers a particularly good view. (There are only three available on each plane.) The Love Suite, on the other hand, is designed with couples or groups in mind. These seats are located in the center of the upper class cabin, and are perfect for dining or watching movies with your travel partner. There are three Love Suites per plane, accommodating six passengers total.

“The unique Upper Class cabin introduces three new seat styles for Virgin Atlantic customers to choose from…Customers will also be able to select from a special barista-style coffee menu; receive free messaging, and an improved amenity kit featuring ‘Happy Socks,” the airline said.
