I’m thinking because you’re reading this you like to travel, right? And while many people prefer a beach holiday rather than a more urban one, there are times when travel takes us to cities near and far. Maybe you even live in a city now, have at some time in the past, or travel to the same cities over and over again. If you’re like me, you think you know certain cities and locations very well and you’re interested in geography. I am. That’s why I was intrigued when I came upon City Guesser.
What Is City Guesser?
City Guesser is a geography based browser game that provides a travel and guessing experience. City Guesser launched on August 13th, 2020. You’ll notice that dates means City Guesser was created during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With billions stuck inside and unable to travel and explore the world, the creators of City Guesser enabled users to see the world in a different way. The gamified aspect of City Guesser lets users engage in virtual video travel.
Sometimes it’s fun to travel solo and sometimes fun with others. You can use City Guesser by yourself, or you can create a private server and invite your friends. You can even create your own video to use on the site.
As the site has grown in popularity, they’ve added other video categories. You can guess monuments, busy places, flags, and beautiful views! Really creative use of this guessing idea.
So have a go at it and see what you think. I’m “guessing” you’ll think it’s fun!

Without looking at a map or using a calculator, I guess Encino, California, near Los Angeles. It’s kind of far from Scotland, Sao Paulo, and the Philippines. If one draws a circle around the Philippines, one edge might get close to Africa but the sign shows that Ghana is far away.
Hi Derek, Thanks so much for your comment. I apologize if the photo was confusing. I didn’t mean for you to guess the city based on that photo. This was a graphic I used for the post. Please do check out the game City Guesser. I think you’ll find it fun!

I think you’re supposed to respond within the game, not here.
Exactly. Thanks Christian!
