It’s Sunday again, which means it’s time for another top ten list. Today’s list, “10 Airlines with the Best Business Class”, comes courtesy of the Wall St. Cheat Sheet.

  1. Air New Zealand Business Premier
  2. Cathay Pacific
  3. Singapore Airlines
  4. Qantas
  5. Virgin Atlantic Airways
  6. Delta Air Lines BusinessElite
  7. Eva Air
  8. Etihad Airways Pearl Business Class
  9. Oman Airways
  10. Emirates Airlines

What do you think? If we are going to include Delta (which I do agree has a great product and service for a US carrier), then I’d say perhaps Air Canada, Alitalia (yes, surprisingly), ANA, Austrian, JAL (SKY SUITE), KLM (New World Business Class), Qatar, Swiss, and Virgin Australia should be considered too.  The others on the list I agree truly stand-out though I’ve not yet sampled Eva or Oman (only partners with Etihad).

Check out their full article here with details on why each airline made the list.

I’ve actually been lucky enough to use miles for all of the above besides Eva and Oman, though several of those trip reports are still being drafted. Here’s a few of my published business class trip reports:

How about Iberia ? I was planning a trip MIA – MAD and it looked like they had a nice business product. What do you think ?

If delta biz belongs to ANY list, the entire list’s objectivity must be questioned

ANA is definitely within top 10 … I liked it more than CX

Nothing about delta is worth putting them anywhere near the top 25 for best business class.

Yeah, Delta seems like a mercy placement. Maybe in the higher numbers of a top 20 but not #7.

Qatar Airways… Hands down. They have BMW’s that come pick you up to take you to your own terminal. Food menus are designed by Nobu and your appetizers are middle east inspired which you enjoy in your QR pajamas. So surprised it didn’t make the cut. That business class on the new Dreamliner is gorgeous

Bad eva air pic, they chose the regional business class with the hello kitty pillows vs the royal laurel class.

Delta’s westin bedding and tumi accessories are nice. I would add american’s 77w onto the list if you can add subfleets. US’s hard product on the A330s are quite nice as well.

OK, I have very limited experience in international business, that being BA, LH and AA.

But I can’t imagine DL belonging in the above group.

FWIW I hope to add Swiss, Cathay and Eva by year’s end.

“Great service starts as soon as you check-in for your flight. There’s accelerated security, priority boarding, and expedited luggage retrieval, writes Fox News. There are multiple movies, TV programs, and in-flight Internet service provided to you through United States-based Delta. Your stomach will also stay satisfied — there are multi-course menus and great wine pairings. After a great meal, drift off with your noise-cancellation headphones and a full-size pillow.”

Almost every single long-haul airline offers every single amenity listed here that they tout as their reasoning why DL offers one of the best biz products.

What a joke.

I just flew ANA from Tokyo to London a few days ago and all I have to say is wow! Lots of space, including a tray that comes out from under the TV (easy to move and best location I’ve ever seen for it) and big storage area next to seat. It was right up there with Cathay. New Asiana was very good too and flying Austrian tomorrow too!!! Air Canada shouldn’t even be mentioned in same breathe with those airlines.

ANA is truly awesome. I just flew Brussles a couple of weeks ago, and it’s almost on par with ANA! Very impressive all around product.

That is a ridiculous article. Aside from it including Delta and excluding other great airlines (Qatar, ANA, JAL sky suite, Asiana, Austrian, Turkish) the pictures are totally misleading. EVA pic is of non-lie flat product. Emirates pic looks like first class, not biz. And I think the same is true of Qantas.

The Wall St. Cheat Sheet post is meaningless — the blogger seems to specialize in filler posts like “10 Must See Destinations for 2013” or “8 Travel Gadgets for This Year”. The author has no bio and gives no methodology so I am guessing she doesn’t know the differences between Delta and AA, or why Air France, Asians, or other carriers would be included over Delta.

Err… Asiana
