Popeyes Launches Emotional Support Chicken for Stressed Holiday Travelers

by Enoch

In the recent months, many airlines have begun to tighten their policies regarding emotional support animals onboard. This is largely due to abuse of the policies: some passengers would bring on exotic animals onboard, in the name of emotional support.

Popeyes decided to inject some humor in all of this, and they are launching “emotional support chicken” to help travelers “get through stressful holiday air travel.” This really is just a 3-piece chicken tenders combo wrapped in a specially designed box, but should definitely turn some heads on flights and at the airport.

Hope Diaz, CMO of Popeyes, comments,

“We know holiday travel can be frustrating, and there’s no better way to ease stress than with a box of delicious POPEYES® fried chicken and a good laugh. We appreciate how comforting emotional support animals are and wanted to create our own version. The good news is that our emotional support chicken is permitted to fly without any restrictions – one less worry for busy travelers!”

Perhaps unfortunately, this is a rather limited rollout. The “emotional support chicken” will only be available in Philadelphia airport (PHL) while supplies last. Passengers can begin ordering them starting today at the Terminal C location.

For those who prefer their chicken from other fast food chains, there is also a McDonald’s at Terminal E and a Chick-fil-A at Terminal B/C in Philadelphia airport. Of course, chickens from those places won’t come with the special box.

Are you flying through Philadelphia this holiday season? If so, will you picking up a box of emotional support chicken from Popeyes?
